How to read this
Latest private raise is the “total amount sold” in the company’s most recent Form D, the notice US companies file after selling securities without a public registration. It is cumulative for that offering and reported by the company. It is not a valuation, and the SEC does not review it.
Notices since 2019 counts Form D filings, including amendments that update an earlier notice. Never add the amounts together: an amendment repeats and updates the same offering.
Federal obligations are amounts US agencies have committed under contracts and research grants (USAspending.gov). They are not revenue and not a contract’s ceiling.
Financings counts published financing developments: public companies’ own SEC reports, plus private offering notices.
What this map is not
It is not a ranking of science, a valuation, an offer or investment advice. A past private raise does not mean shares are available to anyone now. Public companies’ market value is deliberately absent: we track what was filed, not prices.
Companies outside the US, or that never file a Form D, are missing here; absence is not evidence of no funding. Records can be revised; we keep the latest version and note changes.
